Belated thanks to all who celebrated our Inis Úll Winter Solstice rite on the 21st! It was yet another wonderful experience for me. Much is made of the Norse mythological penchant for direness and violence (particularly of the Vikings); but the astonishing promise of renewal after the unimaginable destruction of Ragnarök belies a hopefulness that is truly inspiring. We are with Líf and Lífþrasir on the Earth reborn and they are with us during this annual rebirth of the Sun. Together, we shall create a better world then and now - so long as we maintain our will to do so!
The omen was very interesting. Personally, I saw it paralleling Líf and Lífþrasir’s passing through the fear-gate of Ragnarök, into the mysterious cauldron-wood of Hoddmímis Holt, and emerging into the journey of (re)creation that lies beyond. Hopefully, the rite’s seer will contribute more for the record…
Blessings of the Kindreds to all as we enter the New Year!
P.S.: I'd be grateful if any and all who took photos could share them! Thanks in advance!
