Inis Úll – Apple Isle Grove, ADF cordially invites you to our 2015 Bealtaine High Day celebration: Enchanting Creativity with the Fae. The ritual will take place on Saturday, May 2nd at 3pm on the Great Hill in Central Park.
Bealtaine is the great feast of fertility, of burgeoning creative energy: what began tentatively at the Spring Equinox bursts forward in joyful, riotous growth. It is no wonder that this is a time in which the Fairy Folk, who embody such life force, are palpably present. The differentiation between their aspect of the Worlds and ours thins; communication and more intimate contact becomes easier and, sometimes, unavoidable. We shall journey to the dimension of our Nemeton site which exists in the realm of the Fae. Once there, we will seek the guidance of the Fairy Folk, asking them to lend their spirited, convention-defying energy to our creative work, and to offer to be allies in theirs. After our encounter, we will share our experiences and visions, and seek blessings so that we may go forward into the season of action as a Grove and as individuals empowered by the playfulness, magic, and wisdom of the Fae.
This Gael Hearth Culture rite will follow the ADF Core Order of Ritual. All folk of good will are welcome to attend!
Please bring offerings for the Fairy Folk and any of the great Gael Kindreds. Food and drink and songs and poems and beautiful things are all appropriate gifts to give at this time. If you participated in our Spring Equinox rite, you might wish to bring the symbol of your work that was blessed then so that the Fae may energize your endeavors. All are encouraged to bring symbolic items of personal creativity to be blessed this way.
IMPORTANT: Please note that any alcoholic offerings MUST be in containers which disguise their real identity. We are exercising our religious rights, but it is best to avoid troubles with the authorities!
We will be asking for donations to help cover our Grove’s costs. Five or ten dollars would help us out greatly – whatever you feel comfortable giving. Your participation is far more valuable than cash.
Someone will guide people who don’t know where our ritual site is from the benches south of the restrooms at the top of the Great Hill in Central Park (this is on the *northwest* part of the hill, across from where we hold our rites). To get there, enter the park via “Strangers Gate” at 106th Street and Central Park West, climb the stairs and, when you get to the top, you’ll see the benches to your left (north) between where you are and the restrooms. For this reason, it is extremely helpful if you let us know you are coming! If you are late: from the restrooms, walk east across the top of the hill – hopefully, the Fairies may lead you to us!
