Autumn Equinox: A Hero’s Journey

Inis Ull invites you to the Autumn Equinox Rite honoring Hermes who we will ask to help guide us on a hero’s journey to the underworld. Why do heroes take the underworld journey to begin with? What are they seeking?

There are underworld journeys in almost every culture, but today we will celebrate the fall with the Greeks. The list of heroes and gods who descend into the underworld is long, including Theseus, Odysseus, Heracles, Orpheus, Dionysus, Hera, and Persephone.

We’ll meet by the Oak Tree on the great hill, and if the space is clear process at 2:15pm towards the Elm tree just a little south of our regular spot. We’ve done a few Greek rites at the Elm, and it may be easier to find us walking on the east side of the path on the great hill if we are already at the Elm.

All are welcome to our rite.

Also, we do collect non perishable food for West Side Campaign Against Hunger.
